Traffic Light Cameras — VC 21453

This law allows an automated photograph or video to be taken of a vehicle as it commits a moving violation, namely “running a red light.” There are very strong arguments to be made here and we have seen a great deal of success in fighting these tickets.

Basic Speed Law — VC 22350

The Basic Speed Law dictates that the driver of a vehicle can drive at any speed up to the maximum speed of 65mph that is safe for under the current conditions affected by weather, traffic, pedestrians, lighting, visibility, etc… This means if the conditions are good, you can go faster than the posted speed limit (so long as the sign does not say “Maximum Speed”), but if the conditions are fast, you may be cited for going at the posted speed. It is important to remember that if you are clocked with radar or a laser, that you may still have a valid argument if there is no engineering and traffic survey on file. This argument is typically a strong tool in dismissing cases.

Maximum Speed Law — VC 22349(a) or VC 22356(b)

Unlike the Basic Speed Law, the Maximum Speed Law is the absolute limit of speed you can utilize while driving on a public highway—regardless of the conditions. It is important to remember that even in these circumstances, that a traffic ticket can be fought and won; we’ve done it!

Driving in Excess of 100 MPH — VC22348(b)

Driving in Excess of 100 MPH may be charged as a misdemeanor and will require a court appearance. We fight these citations in a different way.

Truck Speeding — VC 22406

Trucks are governed by a different set of rules. Any truck, or vehicle towing a trailer, cannot drive at a speed in excess of 55 MPH.
